Stay In: Santa Monica to Venice

STAY-IN-THE-BEACH
Between Earth Day and the arrival of spring, April is all about green. Should you not be getting your toes muddy at Coachella this weekend, here's a STAY In to celebrate all things local with a side of eco-comfort and a dash of organic spirits. May you enjoy!
A two day extravaganza of food, this is worth clearing your calendar for. Munch on the goods of over 80 vendors including savories by the likes of Cast Iron Gourmet and Coldwater Canyon Provisions, a delicious dose of sweets from I Heart Pies and Beachy Cream and craft beer by Eagle Rock Brewery.

DRINK:
Akasha
A cornerstone of organic food, Akasha also offers up some of the best seasonal farmer's market libations in town. For a soothing end to your expedition of eating, order a Lavender Drop (housemade lavender and Tru organic vodka)or, if you're feeling especially green, try the Emerald City--housemade basil elixir with Tru organic gin and fresh lime.

STAY: Venice Eco Cottages
After a day of stuffing yourself with local edibles, you'll need a place to rest your pretty head. Just a bike ride away from the beach and Abbott Kinney Blvd., these three little cottages (with names like the Papa Hemingway)are eco-havens with all of the trappings of home sweet home: clawfoot tubs, fireplaces, and full kitchens for when you're ready to eat some more.(Really?)
